INTRO TO
THE LIBRARY
Andrei Kovalev's Midlibrary is a curated collection of styles and techniques that, when added to prompts, affect Midjourney AI generations.

ABOUT THE LIBRARY

Each sample in the Library is hand-picked and checked with Midjourney to ensure the AI knows the modifier and returns a distinct and repeatable result.

To get these results, I fed Midjourney 3500+ names, techniques, genres, artistic movements, and styles using the same prompts: by [artist name] or [technique/genre/style].

Those results that showed distinguishable style went into the Library.

The Library categories are subjective and imperfect. My goal was not to create a universal taxonomy for the art world but rather to devise a quick way to categorize my findings. This was impossible without compromises. So if an artist works in multiple genres (=is a painter, sculptor, and movie director), I would categorize him according to what Wikipedia defines him first and how Midjourney recognizes his style.

Styles rendered by Midjourney in response to specific artists' names might differ from the actual artists' techniques. However, what's important to me here is that these names and words alter Midjourney generations in a distinct and reproducible way. And this might give you the foundation to build your own amazing prompts and get unique results!

FINAL DISCLAIMER
